We’re really pleased to share that Timber Hill Fishing Lake is now open to the wider public on a day-pass basis.
With support from the Year of Croeso: Weather-Proofing Fund (Welsh Government / Visit Wales) we’ve been able to make some meaningful improvements that help people enjoy the lake in all seasons, not just on perfect summer days.
What’s new at the lake
Over the past few weeks we’ve completed a series of upgrades designed to make the lakeside more comfortable, safer and easier to access:
- A small hardstanding parking area
- Firm all-weather paths linking key areas around the lake
- A boardwalk over the wettest section
- All-weather fishing platforms and improved waterside access
- Covered picnic benches for shelter from drizzle, wind or sun
The result is a calm, welcoming space where you can spend time outside even when the ground would normally be too wet underfoot.
Better access for more people
One of the most important outcomes of the project is improved access. The new firm paths and level areas mean the lake is now far easier for anyone who uses a wheelchair, mobility scooter, walking frame, or simply wants steadier footing.
A peaceful spot to switch off (or get a little done)
The lake has always been a lovely, quiet part of the Timber Hill estate, but it’s now much easier to reach and enjoy.
Bring a book, a flask and take your time. Or, if you’re looking to get a little work done, Wi-Fi is coming soon, and it’ll be a great place to sit with a laptop and catch up on a bit of work surrounded by nature (with a proper view instead of a desk!).
Fishing, walking, wildlife and fresh air
Whether you’re coming to fish or simply to enjoy the scenery, it’s a genuinely relaxing place to spend a couple of hours. There’s plenty of wildlife about and the covered benches make it comfortable even if the weather isn’t playing ball.
For peace of mind, CCTV is in operation around the lake as part of our wider effort to keep the area safe and well managed.
Staying at Timber Hill? Lake access is included
If you’re booking a lodge at Timber Hill, the lake remains part of the experience and access is included free of charge for staying guests.
Local to Broad Haven?
If you live nearby and want somewhere peaceful for a stroll or dog walk, we’ve also introduced a local annual pass at a discounted rate. It’s a simple way to enjoy the lake regularly without paying each time.
