We were delighted to receive the annual news letter from Jennie's Children's Trust (formally, Pendyffryn Children's Trust)
This Charity "provides a place where children who have suffered medical trauma or bereavement can recover, recharge and enjoy quality time together with their families. Families can escape the difficulties that they face on a daily basis, relax and have fun in the peaceful surroundings of the Pembrokeshire countryside and coastline."
We feel very privileged that for the last five years the children's trust has been staying with us at Timber Hill due to its child friendly nature, offering their families a place to relax and to build memories.
This summer, once again, with the help of a small team of volunteers, they were able to provide 12 families with much needed respite breaks, making the most of our large child friendly spaces and environmentally sympathetic play areas. We are fortunate to be close to the Blue flag beach of Broad Haven, which is also a very safe beach and only four minutes away.
The following brief extracts from the visitors book speak for themselves:
- “Watching the children have so much fun is a memory I will hold forever”
- “Life with our little “monkeys” is always demanding but this week has allowed us to recharge our batteries”
The Trust are already planning next year's respite breaks and we look forward to welcoming them.
