Beaches
The
safe, sandy beach of Broad Haven at the bottom end of the valley
can be reached via the Woodland Walk - a 20 minute stroll through
superb, broad-leaved woodland that provides sanctuary for many
species of birds. It is also of botanical interest with carpets
of wild flowers from spring through to autumn.
For
the not so energetic the beach is less than five minutes drive
by road.
The
famous Pembrokeshire Coast Long Distance Footpath is within 10
minutes walk from Timber Hill. This Path skirts the entire 168
miles of spectacular Pembrokeshire coastline from Poppit in the
north to Amroth in the south. Broad Haven is situated roughly midway
between the two in St Brides Bay.
Other
popular beaches within the Bay are Druidstone, Nolton and the vast
expanse of Newgale Sands, famous for surfing, windsurfing and land
yachting.
Nearby
Little Haven is a picturesque cove-side village with a good choice
of friendly inns and restaurants. Freshly caught mackerel, crabs
and lobsters can be bought most days during the summer months.
This
superb coastline and the quieter stretches of the Milford Haven
Waterway cater well for boating, sailing, surfing, board sailing,
water skiing, fishing, skin-diving and swimming.
